Jin Jun Mei Spring 2026 Chinese Black Tea, 50g Pouch

Jin Jun Mei is a Chinese black tea known for its natural sweetness, aromatic complexity, and smooth, rounded character. Often referred to in English as Golden Eyebrow tea, a reference to the fine, slender appearance of the finished leaves. The style became known for bringing a more fragrant and refined expression to Chinese black tea, traditionally using tender spring material and careful oxidation.

This Spring 2026 harvest comes from Yangshan Mountain, Youxi, Fujian, China, a different origin and harvest from our Jin Jun Mei Old Reserve. Its character is warmer and a bit less expressive, built around wild honey, cocoa, orchid, and caramel, with a soft malty depth underneath.

The aroma opens with pronounced natural sweetness: wild honey and flowers first, followed by cocoa and warm caramel as the leaves develop. In the cup, the tea is rounded and full enough to satisfy a black tea drinker, while remaining aromatic rather than heavy. Sweetness is high, bitterness is low, and astringency is gentle.

What makes this lot particularly enjoyable is the contrast between its floral and darker notes. Orchid brings lift to the richer cocoa and malt character, while honey and caramel carry through into a warm, lingering finish. It is an expressive Jin Jun Mei with enough depth for slow brewing, but an easy profile for regular drinking.
