Crafted from Nanzhu bamboo, also known as Moso bamboo, the tea tray highlights the natural grain and texture of this traditional Chinese material.

The bamboo surface features a rectangular slatted drainage section positioned along the centre of the tray. Its raised edges help define the brewing area and keep teaware arranged within the tray.

The bamboo construction provides a warm, organic appearance, while the slim rectangular form offers sufficient space for preparing and serving tea.

The tray is available in two finishes:

Natural Bamboo

A light, warm bamboo finish that highlights the material's natural colour and grain.

Walnut Brown

A darker brown finish inspired by walnut wood, offering a more traditional appearance while retaining the visible bamboo texture.

Dual Water Collection & Drainage System

One of the defining features of the Nanzhu Bamboo Tea Tray is its dual-purpose water management system.

The tray supports two methods of handling excess water during tea preparation.

1. Internal Water Storage

The concealed water collection compartment beneath the bamboo surface collects water used during tea brewing.

This allows the tray to be used without connecting an external drainage tube.

The internal compartment can be accessed and emptied after the tea session.

2. External Drainage

For longer tea sessions, the tray also supports external water drainage through a connected tube.

This allows excess water to flow away from the tray into a separate collection container, reducing the need to empty the internal reservoir during use.

Both options are suitable for wet brewing, where water is poured over teapots, used to warm brewing vessels, or discarded between infusions.

Designed for Gong Fu Cha Brewing

Gong Fu Cha is a traditional Chinese tea brewing method that uses smaller teapots or gaiwans and multiple short infusions.

The Nanzhu Bamboo Tea Tray provides a dedicated surface for this preparation method, allowing water to pass through the slatted drainage section while keeping teaware organised.

Its 50 cm length offers room for a teapot or gaiwan alongside several tea cups, depending on the size of the vessels.

The tray is suitable for brewing traditional Chinese teas, including oolong, pu-erh, white tea, green tea, and Chinese red tea.

Its compact design makes it particularly suitable for personal tea sessions, small gatherings, and everyday tea preparation at home.

Care Instructions

After each tea session, empty the water collection compartment and wipe the bamboo surface with a soft cloth.

Allow the tray and internal components to dry thoroughly before storage.

Avoid prolonged exposure to standing water, excessive humidity, direct sunlight, and extreme temperature changes.

Do not soak the bamboo tray or place it in a dishwasher.

Use a soft, damp cloth for regular cleaning and avoid abrasive cleaning products or harsh chemicals.
